FERRIN GALLERY ARTISTS FEATURED AT BAM BIENNIAL: CLAY THROWDOWN 2010 Ferrin Gallery is pleased to announce that four gallery artists are currently featured in BAM Biennial 2010: Clay Throwdown! at the Bellevue Arts Museum, Bellevue, WA. BAM Biennial 2010: Clay Throwdown! is the inaugural edition of BAM's new series of juried competitions designed to provide a panoramic survey of to bring attention and exposure to the work of contemporary artists and craftsmen in the Pacific Northwest. For each edition, the Museum designates a new focus, exploring a specific medium, technique, process or theme in art, craft and design, the Museum's artistic focal point. This first exhibition focuses on ceramics with a survey of artwork by over thirty artists. Clay Throwdown! provides an opportunity to view the variety of approaches to expression, technique and the many directions that this dynamic medium is moving. More than 170 proposals were submitted to the 2010 edition which is focused on the theme of clay. Submissions were reviewed by a select panel of four jurors comprised of: Bif Brigman, collector (Seattle, WA); Stefano Catalani, Director of Curatorial Affairs/Artistic Director, Bellevue Arts Museum (Bellevue, WA); Akio Takamori, artist (Seattle, WA) and Namita Wiggers, Curator, Museum of Contemporary Craft (Portland, OR). BAM Biennial 2010: Clay Throwdown! has been organized by Bellevue Arts Museum, curated by Stefano Catalani and is made possible by The Boeing Company, John & Joyce Price and Samuel & Patricia Smith.
