 show overview

Platt and Borstein Galleries at the University of Judaism , 15600 Mulholland Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90077

Eight artists working in Southern California interpret their cultural heritage within a personal aesthetic in "Voices from the Pacific Rim: Asian American Ceramists." The exhibit opens on June 3rd with a reception from 3 to 5 PM at the Platt and Borstein Galleries of the University of Judaism,

This group of artists can claim roots in the clay traditions of China, Japan, Korea and Thailand melded with an American sensibility. Each of these artists take what they need from their heritage and the American experience to define concepts in the vessel or sculpture for an aesthetically meaningful expression in clay.
