August 18-22 curated weekend of contemporary art in the Berkshires
ArtBerkshires curated weekends offer intimate,
behind-the-scenes guided tours focused on contemporary art, sculpture
and photography on view throughout Berkshire museums, galleries and
studio settings.
Linked by the 2011 theme - Decadence & Decay -
the tours explore restoration of architecture, reuse of materials and
contemporary photography. Historic settings and permanent collections
provide subject matter and content for artists and context for curators
to find beauty in decay.

John Stomberg, Director, Mount Holyoke College Art Museum joins Maria Mingalone,
Interim Executive Director and Director of Interpretation in a
conversation about the work of Gregory Crewdson at the Berkshire Museum
where Crewdson's Untitled (Beneath the Roses 2004) is currently on view.
With work in the permanent collection museums all over the world,
including the Berkshire Museum (and other area museums including
Williams College Museum of Art), Crewdson, is known to use locations in
